The manufacturing process starts with creating a metal mold of the design. This is later plated and filled with enamel color. In a soft enamel pin, each enamel color is separated by a raised metal. These metal barriers separating the different sections of the pin should be no thinner than 0.1mm, however, between 0.15mm to 2mm is recommended
A common question that we come across is whether we should go for hard or soft enamel pins. The answer is it is just a personal preference. Soft enamel pins are pins with a 3D appearance with metal ridges within it. They are thinner, lighter, cheaper, and are able to capture the subtle detail in the design
